Sick Childcare Now 100 Percent Subsidized at Riverwalk
To help make our sick childcare benefits even more affordable and accessible, Carilion subsidizes 100 percent of the cost of sick childcare at the Riverwalk HoneyTree for our employees’ children.

In addition, sick childcare is available earlier—opening at 7 a.m.—to be more convenient to our employees. Hours of availability are 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and the area is staffed by an L.P.N.

All employees are eligible to receive this benefit—regardless of whether their children are enrolled in a HoneyTree Center for their regular care. To use sick childcare, you should contact HoneyTree in advance to ensure they have the necessary information about your children. Click here for a sick childcare registration that you can complete and fax to HoneyTree at 343-6044.

Carilion and HoneyTree will work together to monitor and evaluate the use of this benefit by Carilion employees to determine employees’ interest and its value.

Childcare at Carilion

To assist with your childcare needs, Carilion has programs in both Roanoke and the New River Valley.

Roanoke
Carilion and HoneyTree Early Learning Centers have partnered to provide our employees with access to quality childcare. HoneyTree's programs are designed to foster your child's social, emotional, physical and intellectual development.

Through this partnership and as a benefit to our employees, Carilion subsidizes:

  • 25 percent of the weekly cost of tuition for our employees' children at any HoneyTree location.
  • 100 percent of the cost of sick childcare for our employees' children at the Riverwalk location. Click here for a sick childcare registration form.

    • Oak Grove Riverwalk
    • VA Hospital
    • Vinton
  • Hours from 6:15 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Hours may be extended until 7:30 p.m. for Carilion employees with advance request.
  • Infant and toddler care.
  • Full- and half-day preschool programs.
  • Before- and after-school programs that serve more than 50 area schools.
  • Summer camp.

 

Enrolling Your Children
Work directly with HoneyTree to enroll your children for regular care or sickcare. You may contact HoneyTree by phone at 344-4543 or through its website at www.HoneyTreeELC.com. Be sure to let them know that you're a Carilion employee so you receive the subsidy.
