Have you accessed My Total Rewards? Last month
we introduced this online resource that provides
personalized, detailed information on your benefits
selections and compensation to help you better
understand the total rewards of working at Carilion.
Letters with detailed information on accessing
My Total Rewards, including passwords, were mailed
to eligible employees’ homes in mid-June.
To log into the site, you'll need your badge number,
also known as your Kronos number. You can find
your badge number on the back of your Carilion
identification badge or on your paycheck.
Your password is listed on the letter that was
sent to your home. Click here
to see where to find your password. When you access
My Total Rewards, enter this password into the
Password field. Passwords are case sensitive,
so be sure to type it exactly as shown.
You may access My Total Rewards by clicking here
or by clicking on the My Total Rewards icon on
the Intranet or Employee Hub on carilion.com homepages.
For more information on My Total Rewards, including
information on eligibility, please see the June
issue of The
Carilion Pulse or contact the HR Service

Required Medicare
Part D Notice
Beginning Jan. 1, 2006, a new prescription drug
benefit, Medicare Part D, will be available to
those who are eligible for Medicare. Medicare
will hold an open enrollment period from Nov.
15 to Dec. 31, 2005 to give those who are eligible
for Medicare the opportunity to enroll in its
new prescription drug plan.
Before the beginning of the Medicare Part D
open enrollment period on Nov. 15, employers must
provide information on their prescription plans
to those employees who are enrolled in the plans
to help those eligible for Medicare make informed
decisions on whether to enroll in Medicare Part
D. As part of this requirement, Carilion must
notify our prescription plan participants whether
our prescription plans meet certain criteria that
would affect their enrollment, now or in the future,
in Medicare Part D.
We have determined that the prescription drug
coverage that Carilion offers through our medical
plans is expected to pay out, on average, at least
as much as the standard Medicare prescription
drug coverage will pay in 2006. This is known
as “creditable coverage.” Having creditable
coverage means that if you or your covered dependents
are eligible for Medicare, or become eligible
in the future, you may enroll in Medicare Part
D and not pay a penalty.
A comprehensive notice on our prescription drug
plan and Medicare is available by clicking here.

Center by clicking
